Bowtie Multirotors – Mad Hatter Stretch X Frame
It’s officially time for the Mad Hatter to stretch it’s legs. We’ve had a ton of requests for a Mad Hatter Stretch X frame, and those requests are about to get filled. The goal of the mad hatter stretch x is to offer a higher speed (as though the 85° cam tilt with the daft pod isn’t enough) as well as offer unparalleled cornering capabilities. The first run was pretty much spoken for prior to delivery. With that being said, the beauty of Ben’s design is it’s modularity. Where most frame makers will box you in to one design by machining their arms in a certain configuration which leads to frustration about stack removal and/or frustration of having to buy a whole new frame, Ben’s design enables you to use the same base plate and tops with any set of arms you choose. So, if you’ve already purchased a standard hatter and simply want to slap on some new arms, it’s as simple as ordering a set of the arms you want. Another “interesting” characteristic of other stretch x frames is that the stack area is elongated, creating unnecessary drag, whereas the Mad Hatter Stretch X uses the same compact pods, minimizing drag and increasing performance. While we expect the extra arms to sell out in a hurry, we’ll do backorders and due to demand, we’ve double the first order of frames and arms which are coming this direction and don’t expect the wait to be more than a week between batches.
Additionally, we have a designer working on TPU GoPro Session mounts to fit each pod. If TPU isn’t your style, the pod has a cutout for strapping down a session horizontally or a full action cam vertically.
Feel free to personalize your hatter by choosing the anodized standoffs and screws and the 20mm stack kit, unless you feel like experimenting.
