Bowtie Multirotors Mad Hatter
This may very well be the best frame available today. With 3 pod options, multiple stack height choices and max flying angle up to 75°, narrow arms and 186mm footprint, this frame is incredibly fast and agile without compromising your field of view by filling the bottom half of your screen with spinning props. There are several qualities the Mad Hatter possesses which others do not.
Where many other racing frames fail, the Mad Hatter exceeds expectations. If you look at how the camera pod is designed, you’ll notice that no part of the camera or lens is susceptible to direct impact due as the stanchions extend further than the lens.
With most FPV racing frames, you’re locked into a specific set of frame parts in the same configuration. With the Mad Hatter you’ll be able to choose between 3 tops, standard arms, 5mm arms, kiss arms, 6″ arms and (soon) an arm set that will convert your Mad Hatter into a stretch x frame. Additionally, you can customize the stack height between 20 and 30+mm. With the current pod design, 20mm is currently the lowest stack available with the standard top due to the props striking the top. That being said, the Mad Hatter’s design is constantly being refined to meet the demands of the discerning FPV pilot.
Ease and Cost of Maintenance
Unlike most replaceable arm designs, the Mad Hatter uses a unique design for arm mounting which makes switching arms between rounds a reality with time to spare. Instead of meeting in the middle, the arms meet around the edge of the frame making for a very sturdy design and quck changeouts if you a little too hard. Each piece is sold individually so there’s no need to buy parts you don’t need!
To blatantly plagiarize sir Benjamin Greek, “The Mad Hatter is an incredibly compact build, with arms that narrow in the middle, where the stresses are lower, for minimal thrust blockage. With the some care, the Hatter can be built with only 25mm between the center plates and camera deck–an ultra-compact profile for mass centralization. Arms interlock with each other to form the “Cumberbund of Strength”…a 4+2+2mm sandwich of high quality carbon fiber. A minimal cross-section and low weight make this a great racing quad, with a quick 3-bolt changeout if you manage to break an arm (spare included!) At 186mm and <70 grams with hardware, the 5″ Hatter is incredibly nimble.”
